Marvel Hero Rush Staples for Every Color

If you're building a Marvel Hero Rush deck and don't know what to pick up first, start with the staples. These are the cards that make almost every deck in their color better, so you'll keep using them even when you switch heroes. Here are the ones we'd grab first for each color. Tap any image to see the cards full size. Red Black Widow, Covert Ops (BP01-002) is a Counter you play straight from your hand. Discard her and one of your opponent's characters gets Power -2000 for the turn. That's usually enough to flip a fight you were about to lose. Thor, Thunder Speed (BP01-011) draws you a card when you summon him, and he gets a second attack against a character that turn. Card advantage and pressure in one Lv 3. Iron Man, Antimatter (BP01-001) is the big one. When you summon him, you take out one of your opponent's characters whose level is X or lower, and X is the number of cards you retreated to summon him. So if you pay for him with six face-down Base cards, he can hit anything up to Lv 6. Yellow Yellow is where the Spider cards from SP01 live, and they work really well together. Venom, Spider-Archenemy (SP01-023) is a Blocker. Once per turn in battle, you can take out one of your Lv 3 or lower Human characters and Venom gains that character's Power for the turn. Spider-Man, The Web of Destiny (SP01-021) lets you attach a Web character from your hand to one of your characters for free whenever a Web card enters the field. Ghost-Spider, Phantom Strike (SP01-022) gives Double Attack to the character she's attached to. Attach her with Spider-Man's effect and you've got a character swinging twice that turn. Blue Captain America, I Need You (BP01-077) draws you a card and puts the top card of your deck face down in your Base. That's an extra Lv 1 to pay for your big summons. Captain America, Turn The Tide (BP01-066) sits in your hand. When one of your Lv 4 or lower Human characters retreats from battle, you can trim this card to put that character back on the field. It's a great way to keep your Front filled. Ant-Man, Quantum Core (BP01-064) gets Power +2500 in the Battle Phase as long as you have another blue character in battle. That's 6500 Power on a Lv 4, which wins most fights. Green Anti-Venom, Spider-Ally (SP01-067) attaches to a character and shuts off its effects. Use it on whatever your opponent's deck is built around. Falcon, Search For Comrade (BP01-106) is a Lv 1 that lets you discard a green card from your hand to draw 2. Cheap, and it keeps your hand full. Hawkeye, Pym Arrow (BP01-099) is your answer to big threats. When your opponent summons a Lv 4 or higher character, you can discard 2 cards to take out both Hawkeye and that character. A few buying tips Buy staples before chase cards.
