CookieRun: Braverse Staples for Every Color (October 2026)

We get get always asked : "What should I buy first for my deck?" Our answer is almost always the same. Get the staples. Staples are the cards that show up in almost every deck of their color. You'll keep using them even when you switch decks, so they're the best place to spend your money first. Staples vs tech cards Staples are the ones you'll see in pretty much every list. If you're building that color, start with these. Tech cards depend on your deck and what you're playing against. They're really strong in the right spot, but you won't always run all of them. Pick the ones that fit your plan and your local meta. Cards that work in any deck Tap any image to see it full size. Kumiho Cookie and Earl Grey Cookie are both FLIP cards, and their FLIP effects don't need any color to trigger. You just discard a card. That's why you'll see them in decks of every color. Kumiho hits one of your opponent's Cookies for 1, and Earl Grey gives your Cookie +2 HP once your Break Area hits Lv 6. Avatar of Destiny is a Pure EXTRA card. When both Break Areas are Lv 6 or higher and both players have 3 or fewer cards in hand, you can bring it out from your Extra Deck. A lot of decks keep one in the Extra Deck for that late game. Red Red wants to hit hard and keep the pressure on. Fire Spirit, Nutmeg Tiger and Hollyberry are the Cookies most Red decks are built on, and Giant Cherry Bomb is the 3 damage you need to close out a game. Overhydrated Dough Swamp is your go-to Trap. For tech, Burning Spice and Pitaya Dragon are great when you need more damage, and Timekeeper is there if your opponent likes moving Cookies around. Yellow Yellow is all about control. Millennial Tree brings Cookies back from your Break Area, and Eternal Sugar makes your opponent's attacks cost more. Fragmented Soul and Millennial Jade Deer are the Traps you'll see in almost every Yellow list. Shadow Milk is the Yellow EXTRA everyone runs. On the tech side, Golden Monarch's Counterattack and Broken Signpost are really good answers if you're up against aggro. Green Green builds up a big Support Area and then uses it. Mystic Flour is the main Cookie here. Notice that most of the staples are Traps: Divine Light Crystal, Broken Seal and Piercing Arrow of Purity all help you survive while you set up. Wind Gems is still one of the best Items in the game, and Wind Archer and Elder Faerie are great when you want more ways to mess with your opponent's Support Area. Blue Blue keeps your hand full. Lime, Grapefruit, Icicle Yeti and Sherbet are cheap Cookies that draw you cards, and Bear Jelly Ice Cream bounces a weak Cookie back to your hand so you can use it again. For tech, Jagae and Will of Nature are the Blue EXTRAs to look at, and Mirror of Destiny and Bubble Wave Shell give you removal when you need it. Purple Purple fills up the Trash and uses it against your opponent. Silent Salt, Moonlight and Salt Cellar are the core Cookies, and Moonlight Shards gets a lot better once your opponent's Trash has 15 or more cards in it. Dark Cacao is a strong tech pick, and Forbidden Grimoire and Yew Village Scroll are good Traps if you need more defense. Black Black is a little different, because it's really two decks. The Dark Enchantress Cookie deck is built from The Dark Enchantress War (BS11). You use Venom Dough and Pom-pom Dough for Special Play, Skelecake Bomber and Pomegranate bring your pieces back, and Dark Enchantress is the finisher. The Black Arena deck comes from BS12 and is built around Arena Cookies. Poison Mushroom is the EXTRA, and Red Velvet, Schwarzwälder, Pomegranate and Cake Hound keep pulling Arena Cookies back from your Trash. Both are pretty easy to build since most of the cards come from one set each. A few buying tips Buy staples before chase cards. You'll use them in every deck you build in that color, so they're the best value for your money. Get the full playset. If a card is a staple, you usually want all 4. Don't buy every tech card right away. Play a few games first and see what you're actually up against at your locals. New to building? Check out our deck building guide and how to play guide .
